Friday12pm distractions is a loose gathering of people dedicated to trying to acheive something very small in a finite amount of time.
Each distraction is decided upon by the group and is ideally conceived of & acheived within a month.
Each time a distraction is completed a new person is invited to join.
The distraction idea is inspired by the the Google "20% time" - where 20% of employees time can be used to build projects which inspire them and which have resulted in some of Google's most interesting products.
